Rodin set on North America

I know this isn’t the most pressing matter for Canucks fans at the moment, but I think it’s worth mentioning nonetheless.

Anton Rodin, Vancouver’s second-round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, told me this morning that he will be making the move to North America next season.

He’ll likely be given every opportunity to crack the Canucks roster, but realistically, he’ll start the season with the Canucks’ AHL affiliate (whether that’s in Winnipeg or elsewhere is another question).

The good news apparently just keeps on coming for the Canucks (and yes, I heard about Samuelsson’s injury).

I wrote an article about Rodin for a couple years ago. Check it out to learn more about him.

On an unrelated note, the plan is to post here more regularly throughout the summer. I’m more or less out of the loop in terms of Canucks news, but I recently took over as editor-in-chief of The Charlatan, Carleton University’s student newspaper. We publish our first issue next Thursday, which is exciting (and nerve-racking at the same time).

So as things get rolling, I’ll try to keep you all updated about how I’m coping with the new job.
