Canucks sign Andrew Raycroft to one-way deal

Just had a brief conversation with Andrew Raycroft’s agent Jordan Neumann. Here’s the transcript of our conversation:

1. How much interest was there in Andrew aside from the Canucks?

Neumann: We spoke to several teams and there were a handful of teams that had what I believed to be some serious interest. It simply came down to the fact that we really felt it was important that we signed with a team that we believed to be an upper echelon team and we thought Vancouver fit that.

2. When did the Canucks first express interest in Andrew, and when did they make their offer?
Neumann: We spoke briefly on either Wednesday or Thursday, and then I think the offer finally came in on Friday afternoon.

3. Did anyone from the organization give you any indication as to what Andrew’s role will be on the team next season?
Neumann: We had some simple conversations about that. I don’t think they were any different that these types of conversations would be. Meaning work hard, be prepared to play, and go from there.

4. Is it a one-way deal?
Neumann: Yes.

What does this mean for Cory Schneider? I guess time will tell.
