RIP Alexei Cherepanov

TSN is reporting that Alexei Cherepanov – the Rangers’ first round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft – has passed away. Early reports are suggesting that Cherepanov collided with his teammate Jaromir Jagr near the Avangard Omsk bench and collapsed soon after during the 3rd period of their game. Following the unfortunate passing of Luc Bourdon this summer, this is yet another grave tragedy in the world of hockey.
